Website Last Updated: December 2, 2009 - Have a Safe & Happy Holiday Season!

Aroostook Fire Protection District 1 led by Chief Paul Durepo and is a progressive combination Fire District. Comprised of Fort Fairfield and Limestone Fire Rescue Departments we operate out of 3 Stations with a fleet of 5 Engines, 1 Ladder, 3 Tankers, 3 Rescues, and 3 Support Vehicles. Crown Ambulance provides transport ambulance service for Fort Fairfield and Limestone. Caribou Fire & Ambulance Department provides transport ambulance service for the Loring Commerce Centre.

AFPD1 is the only service county wide that operates (3) NFPA compliant 5,000 gallon tanker trucks that can provide 15,000 gallons of water at one time. This proves as a great asset to the communities we serve and is available to our neighboring communities for mutual aid by request.

During weekdays the Chief and 1 Firefighter work Monday-Friday during daytime hours between Fort Fairfield and Limestone. Also 1 Firefighter works 24-7 at Limestone Station 2 at Loring Commerce Centre.
